To A Keeper

TO A KEEPER!

One day someone's mother died. And on that clear, cold morning, in the warmth of her bedroom, the daughter was struck with the pain of learning that sometimes there isn't any more. No more hugs, no more lucky moments to celebrate together, no more phone calls just to chat, no more "just one minute." Sometimes, what we care about the most goes away . . never to return before we can say good-bye, say "I Love You."

So while we have it . . . it's best we love it . . .. and care for it and fix it when it's broken . . . and take good care of it when it's sick. This is true for marriage .... family and friendships .... And children with bad report cards; And dogs with bad hips; And aging parents and grandparents. We keep them because they are worth it, because we cherish them .

Some things we keep -- like a best friend who moved away or a classmate we grew up with. There are just some things that make us happy, no matter what.

Life is important, so are people we know...
and so, we keep them close!
I received this from someone who thought I was a 'KEEPER'!

Then I sent it to the people I think of in the same way.

Thank you very much for being a special part of my life!

YOU ARE A KEEPER!
Have an awesome day and know that someone has thought about you today. .. I did.

Thoughts...

I went to a funeral this weekend in support of a friend of mine from church who lost her mom unexpectedly, (she came in and found her mom just sitting on the couch with her lunch in her hand, it was very quick) and I listened as the pastor talked all about this woman, about how she had nothing to give her family in her passing. She had no inheritance to give them, but what she did give them was worth more than money, money comes and goes and can be gone in a flash with nothing to show for it, she gave them a legacy of Love. The family had such stories of love and tenderness and how Dottie would go way out of her way for them it was beautiful. It made me realize what I hope to leave behind for my children.
A legacy of Love.
God Bless the family of Dorothy Jelvik.

GO SEAHAWKS

All I can say for that game yesterday was that it was almost boring, I am not complaining but I did expect it to be a closer game. Anyway
WE ARE GOING TO THE SUPER BOWL!!!!

Records

I just thought that I would make a few comments, First of all "Good Job, Seahawks" let's go all of the way, just 1 more game to get through to go to the big time. Second We just missed breaking our record for having the most straight days of rain the record is 33 and we just missed by 6 days, Yesterday was quite a lovely day but it would have been fun to beat a record from 1953.

This weekend was fun we got to go to a baptism for Tennae and Aathina then celebrate afterwards with them in going out to dinner. It was so nice. That is it in a nutshell.

New Years

This is my first post of the new year, I am so excited. I haven't gotten to mention how much fun we had over the New Year. On the eve of the new year Charles and I went to a themed "70's" fondue party there was hot oil for cooking our meat (steak, chicken, and Italian sausage) which had several different dips. There was also cheese for dipping veggies and bread chunks and there was of course a chocolate fountain for all 0f chocolate dippers like angel food and pound cake, fruit (strawberries, pineapple and bananas) there were cookies and pretzels, marshmallows.... it was so much fun fonduing. We then sat around playing "70's" pop trivial pursuit and listening to "70's" music. Oh boy did it bring back fond memories from a more simple time. LOL
We toasted in the New Year and then came home hoping we would get to drive through a check point but there weren't any, bummer! It was the first New Years Eve party Charles and I have been to in years it was very nice.
On New years day we had family over to watch football and take naps and just have a good laugh or two. The New Year is starting out great!
